Why buy the Fox 40 Float from Go-Ride?
Aside from all of the new features listed above, every Fox 40 Float we sell will receive our special Go-Ride treatment. Before we ship out your fork, we will drop the lowers, apply a higher-viscosity lubricant to the bushings, and then make sure that each lower leg has the factory-recommended amount of Green Fox Factory 10wt suspension fluid. We will also open the air spring to make sure that the chamber has the factory-recommended amount Fox Float Fluid. At that point we can also make any adjustments that you want to the volume of the air chamber to ensure the fork works just the way you want out of the box.
Why do this?
We’ve found that a lot of Fox forks leave a lot to be desired when they first come out of the box. Most of the time, the fork has the correct amount of lubricating oil in the lower assembly, but it’s worth double-checking. The main reason the forks feel sticky initially is because even with the factory-recommended oil levels, there is very little lubricating oil to start with. If a fork sits in one position for a long time, this small amount of oil can pool in one location, leaving the bushings and seals dry, which increases seal drag and bushing friction. By applying the higher viscosity lubricant to the bushings, we’re assuring that your fork will feel plush and smooth as soon as you mount it to your rig.
