Description

Work less on your way to the top so you can get seriously rowdy on the way down! Giant's Trance SX 27.5's light, yet burly ALUXX SL aluminum frame and Maestro rear suspension make it possible. A Fox Float X2 Performance rear shock with 140mm of travel and an adjustable 140-160mm Fox 34 Talas Performance fork make getting loose and charging hard the standard. They're dialed for your riding needs: stiff for efficient climbing, plush for zesty descending, and just right for everything in between. The gearing is just as sweet with a SRAM X01 1x11 drivetrain that gives you quick shifts along with chain security to keep you pedaling even when the trail's bouncing you all over the place. And, the Giant dropper post keeps you in the perfect shred-ready position, and SRAM Guide R discs are adept at scrubbing speed smoothly before you're leaning the 27.5-inch Giant thru-axle wheels and Schwalbe rubber over. Up and down, this rig is dialed; technical terrain doesn't stand a chance.

27.5-inch (650B) wheels

27.5-inch wheels (also known as 650B) offer the best characteristics of 26- and 29-inch wheels for an outstanding ride.

27.5-Inch (650B) wheel/tire performance.

Efficiency: Increasing the wheel diameter decreases the angle of attack (the angle at which round objects meet square objects). The lower the angle, the easier it is to roll over obstacles and maintain momentum.

Traction: With a larger diameter, the tire's contact patch increases, putting more rubber on the trail. A 27.5-inch (650B) has nearly the same contact patch as a 29er for superb acceleration, braking and cornering.

Weight: The weight of a 27.5 wheel, tire and tube is only 5% more than an identically built 26-inch wheel. Compare this to a 12% increase with a 29-inch wheel. Lighter wheels mean a lighter bike, and better climbing and acceleration.
